Autism Awareness Week is right around the corner!

This event, organized by graduate student Alyssa SooHoo, has been occurring on campus every April since 2010.

TCNJ is pleased to announce the addition of a new global graduate program in Linho, Portugal (just outside of Lisbon). The Certificate in Special Education program for certified teachers is now offered at Carlucci American International School of Lisbon (CAISL).  Eight-day courses will be held at CAISL on the following dates:

Session I: June 26 – July 5 (off June 29 -30)
SPED 624- Advanced Study in Leaning Disabilities (Leonore Johnston)

Session II: July 8 -17 (off July 13 -14)
EDUC 614- Creating & Sustaining Classroom Communities (Dr. Rick Blumberg)

Session III: July 18 -27 (off July 20 -21)
SPED 626- Teaching Students with Severe Disabilities (Dr. Shridevi Rao)

This course is designed to meet the New Jersey State requirement of a 24-hour Pre-service Program for the Certificate of Eligibility for the P-3 Alternate Route.  Through participation and successful completion of this course, candidates will develop an understanding of the complexities of teaching young children and have a solid background to begin taking the 15 credits of coursework that make up the remainder of the P-3 Alternate Route program at TCNJ.

 

Dates: Tues., May 14th; Thur., May 16th; Tues., May 21st; and Thurs., May 23rd

Time: 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Place: The College of New Jersey

Cost: $200.00

NJ Bonner VISTA Fellows Program – Open to TCNJ Graduate Students
VISTA fellowships are full-time (35-40 hours/week) for one year. VISTA fellows receive a modest living allowance, health care benefits, child care benefits, a relocation allowance if they move more than 50 miles to serve at their site and training. After their year of service, they have a choice between an additional $1500 cash stipend or a $5,550 education award that can be applied to either the repayment of federal student loans or future education.
Candidates must apply online through www.americorps.gov.

If you plan to graduate in 2012/13 please take a few moments to run an Academic Requirement Report.  Your Academic Requirements Report can be found under the Advising Tools tab in PAWS.  Please review your report from top to bottom and contact PAWS Help at https://tcnj.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_6sSB5QZQdVvAGlm with any discrepancies. 

For those students graduating in December 2012 or May 2013, the graduation application is available in PAWS.  The graduation application fee is currently $100.

The application deadline for December 2012 graduation is September 21, 2012.  

The application deadline for May 2013 graduation is February 15, 2013. 

The application deadline for August 2013 graduation is March 1, 2013. 

 A $35.00 late fee will be added to your account for all applications filed after the deadlines.  

If you are completing a College Certification program, you must also complete the appropriate graduation application in PAWS.  You will not be assessed a graduation or late fee, but an application is still required so that your clearance may be processed and completion posted.
